Founded in 1938 under a federal charter, the original name was McLennan County Teachers Federal Credit Union.
At that time there were ten (10) members with $60 in assets on deposit. |
When it was founded ECU was dedicated to serving the teachers and support staff employed by the schools in the counties within our field of membership; over the years, as ECU grew new counties were added to the field of membership.
In 2005 Educators Credit Union became a community credit union. "Community Credit Union" means membership is open to anyone who lives, works, or attends school in McLennan, Bosque, Falls, Hill, Coryell or Lampasas counties.
ECU is excited about the opportunity to offer more people the great products and services that go along with being part of Educators Credit Union.
It is our goal to help the people of these counties meet their financial needs. We offer a wide variety of services at competitive rates, and have eight convenient locations to serve you.
